Swimming

We have really enjoyed swimming this summer!  One thing that really shocks me about Hayes is that he lets me put sunscreen on him!  I have an Aveno Baby stick sunscreen that I apply on his face and he sits so still as I do it.  The we apply the spray sunscreen and he knows the routine of putting it on each arm and then the fronts and backs of his legs, he'll even get out of the water to re-apply!


I bought some squirt guns and diving rings and he loves throwing the rings from the side of the pool and having other kids (or whatever adult is swimming with him) go get them.  He LOVES the squirt guns!  He will giggle uncontrollably when you squirt him with it, which is always music to my ears.  Then when he asks to fill it up for him ("my tun") you never know if it is going to be a weak stream or a full fledge squirt!

He also loves to jump off the side of the pool to you.  He definitely has no fear of the water which is both good and bad, you always have to have your eyes on him for sure!  He is doing swim lessons with a wonderful lady in town so hopefully at the end of the lessons he will be okay going under water and whatever else she is going to teach him at age 2!
