Snow Day-Part 1

So Oklahoma got blasted with snow and gusting winds which equals a blizzard.  I heard on the news (as the weather men were talking for hours upon hours) that when winds reach over 30 miles an hour and there is snow then you can officially call it a blizzard.  (I guess I did learn something with all the news coverage!)  Well, I was prepared!  I got our refrigerator and pantry stocked with yummy stuff (who need Weight Watchers on snow days!), DVDs rented and a Wii game rented!  The day started off magically with our little angel sleeping until 8:00...this never happens.  Next, I warmed up a yummy breakfast hash brown casserole and Ryan made us scrambled eggs and sausage.  Of course Hayes wanted nothing to do with any of that, so he dined on nothing!  (More to come about his 2 year check up and my vow to stay strong with his eating!)  Next we went up stairs to do some dancing on the Wii.  If you have never rented Just Dance 2 DO IT!

It is so fun and I'm telling myself that it is a great workout.  Hayes really like holding the Wii remote and when Daddy got up to try some dancing Hayes joined him.  The result was hysterical, both watching Ryan try to dance and Hayes shaking his body!

Can these 2 look any more alike! ?

Shake what your Momma gave ya!

Ryan decided to continue with the work out by doing some stomach crunches.
Hayes, of course, wanted to join in with Daddy!

Next I decided to let Hayes explore some snow in a dish while I tried to get lunch ready for him.  Such a wonderful thing to be able to watch your child experience something that they have never experienced  before.  He didn't know what to do when he saw it.  When he finally felt it he became more brave and stuck his whole hand in it.  Then he realized that it was very cold and he got a little upset!  The snow exploration lasted for approximately 2 minutes.

Then we ate some lunch.  Ryan and I dined on frozen pizza and Hayes dined on nothing!  Eventually he went to the freezer and got out a Gogurt to eat.  We then cuddled up and watched Despicable Me.  Hayes lasted about an hour into the movie and wanted to try something else.  Here is where I attempted to put him down for a nap.  Right, not a chance!

So our afternoon was filled with jumping on Mommy and Daddy's bed, getting pushed over onto the pillows on Mommy and Daddy's bed, tearing through the house, putting together train tracks and then knocking them apart, crawling through the Discovery Play Tent, crying, playing with his tool bench (or should I say knocking it over), and tearing through more stuff.  A nap never occurred!

Dinner time...and guess what! Hayes ate!  He ate some "zoup" and oranges.  YEAH!!  Finally it was bath time and bed time!  A fun/crazy day of doing nothing yet feeling worn out at the end of it all!  Stay tuned for a report or our Snow Day Part 2.
